Whether you buy an adoption for yourself or as a gift you’ll be making a vital contribution to help wildlife thrive around the world.

Tigers are critically endangered. Their biggest threats in the wild include poaching and human-wildlife conflict because of the loss of their habitat. With your help, we believe our conservation research can influence the sustainability of endangered species and inspire others to join us in our challenge to protect our planet’s biodiversity.

Together we can help save this mighty species from extinction.

How does Chester Zoo help tigers in the wild?

Chester Zoo works with a wide range of people and organisations, across many projects worldwide.

Sumatran tigers are down to critical numbers in the wild and face many threats. We’re working on a variety of project to save them from extinction, including efforts to tackle deforestation through our campaigns on sustainable palm oil and the work of the Action Indonesia global species management plans (GSMPS). These GSMPs are collaborative efforts by over 60 international organisations, including zoos, governments, conservationists and academics from around the world, to help to save four of Indonesia’s most threatened species, including Sumatran tiger. Additionally,  we’re working towards reducing human-tiger conflicts in India and Nepal to improve the outlook for the Bengal tiger and the communities living alongside this unique species.

Tiger adoptions provide key funds for these vital efforts and other conservation projects that both support communities and help to prevent extinction globally.
