The calf, which has been revealed as a boy, arrived to proud parents Margery (7) and Betong (6) on Thursday morning (18 July).
Helen Pople is a science research master’s student, at The University of Portsmouth and another student whose research we helped through our Studentship programme.
Found in Madagascar and parts of the African mainland, tenrecs closely resemble hedgehogs but, in fact, they’re unrelated. Learn more here!
The foals arrived within hours of each other to mums Jamila and Zarrin and dad, Holmes on 4 July after year-long pregnancies.
