Conservation workshop

In this engaging workshop, we’ll examine some of the major threats facing wildlife currently – including pollution, over-exploitation and habitat loss. We’ll look at what Chester Zoo is doing to help and find out ways we can all protect wildlife from our own homes.

Science - living things and their habitats:

• recognise that environments can change and that this can sometimes pose dangers to living things.
• pupils should explore examples of human impact (both positive and negative) on environments, for example, the positive effects of nature reserves, ecologically planned parks, or garden ponds, and the negative effects of population and development, litter or deforestation.

Geography

• understand the processes that give rise to key physical and human geographical features of the world, how these are interdependent and how they bring about spatial variation and change over time.
