BIAZA Research Conference 2025

Hosted in The Square, our stunning Grade II listed building venue in the heart of the zoo, the conference showcases a wide variety of zoo and aquarium research from industry professionals, academics, and students. 

The two days will feature a selection of submitted research talks and posters, as well as a keynote and panel discussion with experts from Chester Zoo, led by Dr. Sue Walker.

There will be opportunities take part in scientist led tours of the zoo, discovering how Chester Zoo embeds scientific research into daily management to the groundbreaking research projects being undertaken.

Also enjoy skills-based workshops delivered by the BIAZA Research Committee, showcasing the different areas of scientific research, which is undertaken in zoos, ranging from animal behaviour and social science to bioacoustics to wildlife endocrinology.

Icebreaker (optional extra)

Join us for an icebreaker event on Monday 7 July at Brewhouse and Kitchen in Chester City Centre.

All delegates can come and visit Chester Zoo on Monday 7 July before the optional icebreaker for a chance to explore the zoo. Please bring your booking confirmation.

 

Gala Dinner (optional extra)

Join us for a three course dinner and DJ entertainment at The Queen Hotel in Chester.

Includes arrival drink (alcoholic and soft drinks available).
