The Green Gold Game
Created for our Sustainable Palm Oil Campaign this role-playing team game for ages 9+ allows students to explore the complexities of palm oil production, taking on roles as plantation owners and government ministers to make decisions about sustainability.
The game introduces students to the difficult choices involved in the industry, helping them understand the environmental, economic, and political challenges of palm oil production. By simulating real-life scenarios, the game teaches the importance of choosing RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil and encourages critical thinking about global environmental issues.
The game includes various materials like game boards, forest cards, and teacher prompts, making it an engaging and structured activity for students. It provides a hands-on approach to learning about sustainability, helping young people grasp how their choices as consumers and citizens can impact the environment and wildlife conservation.
