The Oakfield has extended its opening hours due to “phenomenal demand”. Located in the heart of the zoo, it will now open to the public EVERY Friday and Sunday evening throughout 2024.

Our contemporary British pub was only available to zoo visitors during the our opening hours. However, in February, due to popular demand, we opened the pub to the general public, for the very first time, on Friday evenings.

Following its popularity, we’re also welcoming all to join us on Sunday evenings from 12 May.

Guests can enjoy the setting of our impressive Grade II listed building that is steeped in history having once been the home of the zoo’s Founder, George Mottershead, as well as some of the zoo’s very first animals including lions, bears, chimpanzees, pelicans, parrots and even an aquarium.

Since opening in 2018, The Oakfield has won a host of prestigious accolades, from regional Taste Cheshire Awards to the international Traveller’s Choice Awards hosted by TripAdvisor – with the pub ranked in the world’s top 10% of restaurants.

Walk ins accepted for both Friday and Sunday evenings, or book online.
