Roloway monkeys have unique colour patterns which helps them to recognise each other.
Males typically have larger bodies that help them to protect themselves against other males, and their long white beards are believed make them more attractive to mates.
Roloway monkeys have varied teeth that match their diverse diet of insects, fruit and leaves. They communicate the location of food to each other when foraging through the rainforest.
To do this, they have a range of distinctive calls including chuckles, croaks and yells. However, males can be so noisy that it also makes it easier for poachers to find them.
ROLOWAY MONKEYS ARE ONE OF THE MOST ENDANGERED MONKEYS IN THE WORLD.
Their threat comes from the loss of their rainforest habitat being destroyed by logging and crop production, and frequent illegal poaching poses a threat to their future in the wild.
By creating a bigger demand for more sustainably sourced wood and paper products, you can help to protect rainforests and save Roloway monkeys from extinction.
