Chester Zoo is a force for nature – and so are our amazing fundraisers who support our work to save species.
We are an international wildlife charity at the forefront of species conservation. We urgently need your fundraising support to help save species and protect our natural world. However you choose to fundraise for Chester Zoo, you’ll have the support of our teams all over the world behind you every step of the way.
How fundraising for Chester Zoo helps us
All donations help us to carry out our vital work to ensure nature can survive and thrive. Here are just some of the ways your fundraising can help.
- £100
Will pay for a safe home for barn owls on our Chester site. Help ensure this protected species can continue to thrive in our area.
- £300
Will pay for a specialist camera to monitor species in the wild. This will help us gain more information and track populations, enabling our conservationists to plan their crucial species saving work.
- £500
Will cover the costs of employing one conservationist to carry out vital work in one of our field projects for half a year.

A spotlight on our fundraising superstars, Alfie & Max
Alfie (8) and Max (5) from Cumbria, love Chester Zoo and all of the animals that call Chester Zoo home. In July 2024, they decided to share their love for Chester Zoo by taking on the huge challenge of climbing Eryri (Snowdon) to raise money for our global conservation work. Alfie and Max raised an incredible £1,358 for our conservation work - which will have a huge difference.
We couldn't do all we do without superstar fundraisers like Alfie and Max - thank you to Alfie and Max and to all our amazing fundraisers!

Challenge 200
As the national conservation zoo, we are committed to the targets set in our Conservation Masterplan and one of these is to work with 200 endangered species to reverse their decline in the wild.
To support the work our charity does with endangered species, we would love it if you took part in our Challenge 200. This is your chance to get creative with your Chester Zoo fundraising - you could aim to raise £200, run 200 miles or bake 200 cupcakes.
Reversing the decline of 200 threatened populations in the wild is a huge undertaking but with your fundraising support, we can achieve this.
If you want to get involved in our Challenge 200, please get in touch and let us know what you plan to do. We love to hear your fundraising stories and will support you all the way!
