Future Conservationists
We are in the midst of an ongoing, global extinction crisis. The future of our planet and the wildlife that call it home is in the hands of the next generation. Please donate to our Future Conservationists appeal today.
Climate change – the increase in the Earth’s temperature and the effect this has on global climate conditions – is the biggest threat to nature. Unless we take urgent and far reaching action now, there will be catastrophic consequences for people and wildlife, such as droughts, floods, wildfires, displacement of billions of people and mass extinction of animals and plants.
We are in the midst of an ongoing, global extinction crisis. To ensure that nature can survive and thrive long into the future, we will rely on the future generations to protect species from extinction. We need to engage, inspire and educate people in their formative years today so that they will champion and protect nature in years to come.
We urgently need your support
Chester Zoo is conservation and education charity - educating the next generation of conservationists and providing opportunities for young people to engage with nature is at the heart of what we do. Every year we welcome more than 122,000 students into our zoo on educational visits, we teach 35,000 children on-site and we had 2,000 students take part in our youth programmes. We provide 35,000 free school visits for schools is under-privileged areas - providing important touchpoints with nature and wildlife.
